What if performance and sustainability worked hand in hand?

In many industries these are conflicting goals. In ours, they move together. Any friction we remove results in better performance and lower emissions, at once. Here, physics works in our favour.

This means by increasing the efficiency in our products, we can make our biggest sustainable contribution through our OE partnerships and our aftermarket offer. At SKF Vertevo, we go beyond compliance and see our responsibility beyond the product. The same thinking runs through how we source, how we operate, and who we work with. That is how our products and kits become solutions for positive impact.

Growth without the planet paying

Must growth lead to more emissions? At SKF Vertevo we are working to break that link. Through efficiency, recycled materials and cleaner operations, we aim to keep business growing while our carbon footprint falls.

We are moving in the right direction. Our KPIs show that growth and emissions are decoupling and beginning to move in opposite directions.

Since 2006 our revenue has grown with 42% (burgundy curve). In the same time period we have managed to reduce our energy use with 30% (light grey curve) and our CO2 emissions with almost 86% (dark grey curve). The graph is based on an estimated split between AB SKF and SKF Vertevo business since 2006.

Driving sustainable transformation takes focus and structure. Our sustainability framework makes it clear how sustainability for us is not one effort but four, each reinforcing the others.

The result of our efforts

As a former part of the SKF Group, our focus on sustainability has been recognized by partners and customers, and our efforts in ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) have earned high sustainability ratings. This includes CDP A List 2025 (SKF Group) and EcoVadis Gold 2025 (SKF Group) and means we are among the top 5% of companies globally rated for sustainability performance. During 2027 it is expected that SKF Vertevo will receive its own ratings as a standalone company.

CDP is a leading global environmental disclosure platform that scores how companies manage climate and environmental impact, while EcoVadis is a widely used business sustainability rating system that evaluates performance across environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

At SKF Vertevo we work towards our sustainability targets consistently and with a clear focus. We operate DNV-certified management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 (environment), ISO 45001 (health & safety) and ISO 50001 (energy). All relevant sites are also assessed according to the NQC SAQ 5.0 sustainability evaluation.

The certifications and recognition of our work give our stakeholders independent assurance that our sustainability work meets international best practice.
